About Eric Nunnally

I am a writer, educator, traveler, and lifelong observer of the forces that shape human character. After more than three decades in classrooms across the United States and Asia, I now divide my attention between writing and building a quieter, more self-sufficient life in Belize. My work draws from lived experience, history, philosophy, faith, cultural displacement, and the small private moments through which people reveal who they truly are.
My books move between fiction, poetry, essays, and social commentary, often exploring dignity, memory, power, love, isolation, responsibility, and the uneasy relationship between the individual and the systems that surround me. Whether writing about childhood on Chicago’s South Side, life abroad, the moral contradictions of capitalism, or the silence of the Belizean jungle, I aim to create work that is honest, atmospheric, intellectually serious, and deeply human.
